Sol Duc River

Pronounced "soul duck" | Nickname "the Duck"

Affording year-round fishing, the Sol Duc River is famous for its big rapids, wild fish and attracts anglers from around the world.  It has big runs of hatchery Coho Salmon and Wild Kings in fall, Wild Steelhead in winter, and Sockeye, Coho Salmon, and Cutthroat trout in summer.

If you love floating a challenging white water river while pursuing the fish of your dreams, then Sol Duc River fishing is for you.  It's open all year and has fresh salmon or Steelhead entering it all season long.

While it's more difficult to wade in most sections because of steep banks and large rocks, it does provide a good Spey fishing opportunity.  It also has some great gear fishing runs for the angler that prefers to spin fish.

Additionally, the Sol Duc River has an excellent spring King salmon run.
